Summer Swimming Fun

We opened our pool June 1st and the kids couldn't wait to get it.  Do they look cold?  They are, the water was cold but they didn't care they got in anyway.  They even found a frog and played with it for awhile.

Aubry got lifeguard certified and started teaching swimming lessons.  She had several students and loved it.  She created a blog, check it out sometime!  instantswimmers.blogspot.com

Seth and his friends decided to see how much they could fit into a swim cap, the things those boys come up with.....

They got Luke into this one and it broke after a few tries...

We got in the pool almost everyday and loved having friends and family come over to play!

Anna had a pool party to celebrate turning 8!

Our last hoorah before closing the pool for the season was Labor Day Weekend.  Anna was baptized so we had family and friends over and had a great time!

Summer Swim Team 2012

Aubry, Seth, Luke and Anna participated on the summer Emmett Gator Swim Team and had another great summer.  Anna has become our butterfly champion and Aubry, Seth and Luke continue to  win in the breast stroke, most of the time.  Uncle Paul brought his professional camera to one of the meets and got these great pictures.  Unfortunately Aubry was not at this meet, she was on the 4th year hike for girls camp with her youth group.

A few shots of Aubry at the Emmett Pool after the season was over.  Aubry, Seth and Luke all participated in the 3 mile challenge fundraiser.  They had 2 hours to swim 3 miles (108 laps).  They all finished in time, even Luke with 1 minute to spare!  The coaches have also discovered that Seth might be a good long distance swimmer.

June 2012

                                                             Utah Valley Marathon
Aaron, Andy, and Natalie ran the marathon, Brooke and Amber ran the half marathon, Rodney Ethel, Troy and Kara ran the 10K.  The last time Aaron ran a marathon was 10 years ago when he ran in the Great Potato Marathon here in Boise.  His goal was to qualify for Boston but unfortunately his GPS was wrong and he missed it by 1 min.   He finished in 3hrs 16 min which is amazing and I am so proud of him.

Seth turned 14 on the 11th.  Anna, Lizzy and I had fun decorating his room while he was gone on a stake retreat for young men.
