Christmas Day

I will post pictures soon but I just had to share something funny about Luke. Christmas morning he had his Christmas list right by him and he crossed things off his list as he opened his presents. He didn't get everything on his list, of course, and once all the gifts were opened and he looked at his list and with a sigh said, "I guess there's always next year!"

We did it!

Aaron and I ran the Zeitgeist Half Marathon today. The weather was perfect, the course not so perfect, the hills were endless at times. We finished in 2hrs 16 min. All our training paid off, at least for me, this was an easy race for Aaron and he is so wonderful for running it with me. My goal was 2 hrs and 10 min but the hills got the better of me a couple times and we walked for a few minutes. I'm excited I was able to finish strong, although my hips and knees were hurting, the long down hill areas seemed to cause them to hurt more than going up hill. I'm going to continue running, at least until the weather gets too cold. This picture was taken after the race!

Halloween Fun

Poor Seth missed out on Halloween this year. We think he had a 24 hour flu bug. He said he would rather be sick on his birthday than on Halloween. Michelle took the other kids to the trunk-or-treat at the church then went trick-or-treating with some friends and got way too much candy. It's amazing how many people give out full size candy bars around here! Seth didn't miss out on getting candy, he got Lizzy's bucket from the trunk-or-treat and then the other children gave him some of their candy from trick-or-treating. As you can see from the slide show there was plenty of candy, and there is such a thing as too much! Oh and FYI, Aubry was Padme' (made by Michelle and Aubry), Luke was a Vampire, Anna was a princess, of course, Lizzy was a Lady Bug, and Michelle was Princess Leah. Seth was going to be a Jedi.

Anna to the rescue!?!

After school yesterday Anna kept asking me if she could fix my hair and as usual I was busy trying to get other things done. Finally she approached me very frustrated and said, "I really want to fix your hair pretty and it doesn't look that pretty and I want to fix it pretty so please can I fix your hair!"

Sad thing I thought my hair looked pretty good today! Guess not, at least from Anna's point of view.
The pink headband makes all the difference!

Womens Fitness Celebration

Aubry and I participated in the St. Luke's Womens Fitness Celebration this weekend and we met up with Mammo and Aunt Amy before and after the race. We arrived at the starting point an hour before the race started and enjoyed watching everyone around us dance to the music and get excited for the race to start. We have been in the race every year accept one since we moved to the Boise area so we've done it 8 years and this was the second time we weren't pushing a stroller. It was the first time Aubry and I wanted to run the whole thing (5k, 3.1miles), and we did it and it was so fun. This has been a fun tradition for us and we look forward to doing it every year. This year has probably been the best because the weather was perfect, last year it rained the whole race and for most of the races in the past it has usually been cold. We were very excited to reach our goal of running the whole thing.
Waiting for the race to start!

Enjoying a dream bar after the race.
On the bus headed back to the mall. We decided to go to McDonalds in the mall and get a fruit and yogurt parfait since they didn't serve them after the race like as they have done in the past.
After all it's a tradition to have fruit and yogurt after the race. It was a fun morning, thanks Mommo and Aunt Amy for sharing it with us!

First Day of School

Now that school has been going for 3 weeks, I'm finally getting around to posting the first couple days of school. Better late than never right? All the children are enjoying school and are happy with their teachers. Anna especially loves riding the bus. Luke was excited to find out his teacher is a Male. Aubry and Seth like having lockers and several classes. Aubry is also trying Cross Country for the first time.

These first three pictures were taken on the second day of school. We recieved a fun package from Houston, Texas after the children got home from school on the first day. Uncle Nate and Aunt Macy sent something for everyone so of course the children wanted to wear their new stuff. Aubry is wearing her new scarf, Anna her her shirt and hair bow, Seth and Luke their new football shirts. Thanks again Nate and Macy!!!

These were taken the first day of school!

Piano Recital

At Aubry and Seth's final piano recital each of the students played duets.

Here is Aubry with her friend playing "Part of Your World."

Seth with his friend playing "Wade in the Water."

Aubry and Seth also did a duet together, "The Entertainer" I messed up on the recording so I'll have to have them play it again so I can record it and post it later.

Lizzy's lone tooth!

I thought I better get a few pictures of Elizabeth's one and only tooth before her other teeth grow in more, she has 3 coming in. Her smile is so fun and cute with just that one tooth.

Skin Heads

So Monday after swim team the boys were begging me to shave their heads so I told them to call their Dad and that if he said yes I would do it. I thought for sure he would say no of course but unfortunately he said yes. So the buzzing began and after using my clippers with no attachment Seth was not satisfied and wanted it totally gone with smooth skin. The shaving, with my razor, began and after about a half hour they were smooth! They also convinced their friend to do it so here they are, no need for a swim cap now I guess! Seth is now trying to get me to teach him to shave his head so he can keep is smooth all summer!

Luke Gets Glasses!

Luke has been telling us that it is hard for him to see the board at school since he sits in the back so I took him to see the best Eye Doctor in town and what do you know Luke needed glasses. Doesn't he look great! I helped him pick out these glasses, it was interesting how many glasses he didn't like because they were too girly because of the color!

Happy Easter!

We had a wonderful Easter and enjoyed having warm weather! The kids were able to be a part of 3 egg hunts. Once in Utah with Michelle's family, another time with Aaron's family and then last at our house with Aaron's sister, Sherie, and her family! Poor Elizabeth was asleep during all three and missed out, oh well she had fun taking eggs from one basket and putting it in another basket! Michelle had fun matching the kids in green this year. She made Aubry's skirt to match the dresses she bought for Anna and Elizabeth and then bought green shirts for the boys. Don't they look great!

Happy Birthday Elizabeth

Our baby girl is 1! It's hard to believe that she could be 1 year already! She is such a sweet, loveable, and cuddly baby and we all love giving her kisses. Just recently she has started giving kisses herself, sometimes it is more of a lick than a kiss but that's ok. Elizabeth is taking more steps and is getting more brave about standing up in the middle of the room by herself. She still doesn't have teeth but she has kept her brown hair, yea! She now wrinkles her nose when she smiles. She has become more curious and her favorite thing to do is empty the cupboards in the kitchen, especially the one with the cups, bowls, and plates. She also loves to sneak off and climb the stairs when you turn your back and it's amazing how fast she is. We have tried to teach her how to come down the stairs and she seems to be catching on but still makes us nervous. She sure had fun digging into her cake and we all enjoyed watching her make a mess. We all love her dearly! By the way Aubry helped decorate the cake!

Elizabeth turns 1!
